Juz 26
Victory (Al-Fatt-h)
29 verses, revealed in Medina after Friday (Al-Jumu'ah) before The Feast (Al-Maa 'edah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Indeed, We have given you, [O Muhammad], a clear conquest (1) That God may save you from earlier and subsequent blames, and complete His favours on you, and guide you on the straight path, (2) And help you with surpassing help. (3) He it is Who bestowed inner peace on the hearts of the believers so that they may grow yet more firm in their faith. To Allah belong the legions of the heavens and the earth; Allah is All-Knowing, Most Wise. (4) and so that He might admit the believers, men and women, into Gardens through which rivers flow, to dwell therein forever, and so that He may remove their evils from them, that is, indeed, a supreme triumph in God's eyes, (5) And that He may chastise the hypocritical men and the hypocritical women and the associaters and the associatresses, the thinkers of evil thought concerning Allah. Unto them shall befall the evil turn of fortune, and Allah shall be wroth with them and shall curse them, and He hath gotten ready for them Hell: an ill destination! (6) To Allah belong the armies of the heavens and the earth. Allah is the Almighty and the Wise. (7) We have sent you forth as a witness and a bearer of good tidings and a warner, (8) So that (men) may believe in God and His Apostle, and honour Him and revere Him, and sing His praises morning and evening. (9) Those who swear allegiance to you (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), do indeed in fact swear allegiance to Allah; Allah's Hand* of Power is above their hands; so whoever breaches his oath, has breached his own greater promise; and whoever fulfils the covenant he has with Allah so very soon Allah will bestow upon him a great reward. (Used as a metaphor.) (10)
