Muhammad (Muhammad)
38 verses, revealed in Medina after Iron (Al-Hadeed) before Thunder (Al-Ra'ad)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Those who disbelieve and turn (men) from the way of Allah, He rendereth their actions vain. (1) But those who believe and do the right, and believe what has been revealed to Muhammad, which is the truth from their Lord, will have their faults condoned by Him and their state improved. (2) This is because the disbelievers followed falsehood and the believers followed the Truth which is from their Lord; this is how Allah illustrates the examples of people to them. (3) When you meet those who deny the truth in battle, strike them in the neck, and once they are defeated, make [them] prisoners, and afterwards either set them free as an act of grace, or let them ransom [themselves] until the war is finally over. Thus you shall do; and if God had pleased, He would certainly have exacted retribution from them, but His purpose is to test some of you by means of others. As for those who are killed in God's cause, He will never let their deeds be in vain; (4) He will guide them and amend their condition (5) and will admit them to Paradise with which He has acquainted them. (6) O People who Believe! If you help the religion of Allah, He will help you and will stabilise you. (7) But the unbelievers shall be the destroyed losers. He will bring their deeds to nothing. (8) That is because they hated what Allah has sent down, so He annulled their deeds. (9) ۞ Have they not travelled through the earth, and seen what was the end of those before them? Allah destroyed them completely and a similar (fate awaits) the disbelievers. (10) That is because Allah is the Protector of those who believe, and because the unbelievers shall have no protector for them. (11)
