۞ IT IS GOD who has made the sea subservient [to His laws, so that it be of use] to you so that ships might sail through it at His behest, and that you might seek to obtain [what you need] of His bounty, and that you might have cause to be grateful. (12) And He hath subjected for your sake whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, the whole from Himself. Verily herein are signs unto a people who ponder. (13) Tell the believers to forgive those who do not look for the Days of Allah, so that He recompenses the people for what they have earned. (14) If any one does a righteous deed, it ensures to the benefit of his own soul; if he does evil, it works against (his own soul). In the end will ye (all) be brought back to your Lord. (15) And We did certainly give the Children of Israel the Scripture and judgement and prophethood, and We provided them with good things and preferred them over the worlds. (16) And We granted them Clear Signs in affairs (of Religion): it was only after knowledge had been granted to them that they fell into schisms, through insolent envy among themselves. Verily thy Lord will judge between them on the Day of Judgment as to those matters in which they set up differences. (17) We then placed you (O dear prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him) upon the clear path of the command, therefore continue following it and do not listen to the desires of the ignorant. (18) Surely they will not avail thee aught against God. Surely the evildoers are friends one of the other; God is the friend of the godfearing. (19) This (Quran) is a clear insight and evidence for mankind, and a guidance and a mercy for people who have Faith with certainty. (20) Do those who commit evil assume that We will make them equal to those who believe and do good deeds, therefore both becoming equal in life and death? What an evil judgement they impose! (21)
