Kneeling (Al-Jaatheyah)
37 verses, revealed in Mecca after Smoke (Al-Dukhaan) before The Dunes (Al-Ahqaaf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Ha; Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language Allah, and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) (1) This Book is a revelation from the Most Mighty, the Most Wise. (2) Indeed, there are signs in the heavens and earth for believers, (3) And in your (own) creation and in what He spreads abroad of animals there are signs for a people that are sure; (4) In the alternation of the night and the day, the sustenance which God has sent down from the sky to revive the barren earth, and in the changing of the direction of the winds there is evidence of the truth for the people of understanding. (5) These are the revelations of Allah which We rehearse unto thee with truth: in what discourse then, after Allah and His revelations, will they believe? (6) Woe to every guilty impostor (7) He hears the revelations of God which are recited to him, then persists in his arrogance as if he had not even heard them. Tell him that he will suffer a painful torment. (8) As for he who knows something of Our verses and then mocks them for those there is a humiliating punishment. (9) Hell is behind them. Their worldly earnings shall not avail them, nor those whom they took as protectors instead of Allah. An awesome chastisement lies in store for them. (10) Such is Our guidance; those who reject their Lord's revelations shall suffer a woeful punishment. (11)
