Kneeling (Al-Jaatheyah)
37 verses, revealed in Mecca after Smoke (Al-Dukhaan) before The Dunes (Al-Ahqaaf)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Ha; Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language Allah, and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) (1) This Book is a revelation from the Most Mighty, the Most Wise. (2) Indeed, there are signs in the heavens and earth for believers, (3) And in the creation of yourselves and of the beasts that He hath scattered over the earth, are signs unto a people who are convinced. (4) And in the alternation of night and day and that which Allah sendeth down of provision from the heaven and thereby quickeneth the earth after the death thereof and the turning about of the winds, are signs unto a people who reflect. (5) These are the verses of Allah which We recite to you in truth. Then in what statement after Allah and His verses will they believe? (6) Ruin is for every great slanderer, excessive sinner. (7) He hears the revelations of God which are recited to him, then persists in his arrogance as if he had not even heard them. Tell him that he will suffer a painful torment. (8) When he learns about some of Our revelations, he mocks them. Such people will suffer a humiliating torment. (9) In front of them is Hell; and of no profit to them is anything they may have earned, nor any protectors they may have taken to themselves besides God: for them there shall be a terrible punishment. (10) [To pay heed to God's signs and messages:] this is [the meaning of] guidance; on the other hand, for those who are bent on denying the truth of their Sustainer's messages there is grievous suffering in store as an outcome of [their] vileness.
