The Amramites (Al-Imraan)
200 verses, revealed in Medina after The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal) before The Parties (Al-Ahzaab)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Alif. Lam. Mim. (1) Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence. (2) He hath revealed unto thee the Book with truth confirming that which went before it; and He sent down the Taurat and Injil. (3) aforetime, as guidance to the people, and He sent down the Salvation. As for those who disbelieve in God's signs, for them awaits a terrible chastisement; God is All-mighty, Vengeful. (4) Nothing in the heavens or the earth is hidden from God. (5) He it is Who fashionoth you in the wombs as He will; there is no god but He, the Mighty, the Wise. (6) It is He Who has revealed the Book to you. Some of its verses are absolutely clear and lucid, and these are the core of the Book. Others are ambiguous. Those in whose hearts there is perversity, always go about the part which is ambiguous, seeking mischief and seeking to arrive at its meaning arbitrarily, although none knows their true meaning except Allah. On the contrary, those firmly rooted in knowledge say: 'We believe in it; it is all from our Lord alone.' No one derives true admonition from anything except the men of understanding. (7) "Let us not go astray, O Lord, having guided us already. Bestow on us Your blessings for You are the benevolent. (8) You will gather mankind together, O Lord, on a day that is certain to come, and God does not fail in His promise. (9)
