The Amramites (Al-Imraan)
200 verses, revealed in Medina after The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal) before The Parties (Al-Ahzaab)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Alif-Lam-Mim. (1) GOD - there is no deity save Him, the Ever-Living, the Self-Subsistent Fount of All Being! (2) He has sent down to you the Book with the truth, confirming what preceded it; and He has sent down the Torah and the Gospel (of Prophet Jesus which has been lost) (3) aforetime, as guidance to the people, and He sent down the Salvation. As for those who disbelieve in God's signs, for them awaits a terrible chastisement; God is All-mighty, Vengeful. (4) Verily Allah! naught is concealed from Him in the earth or in the heaven. (5) He shapes you in the womb of the mother as He wills. There is no god but He, the all-mighty and all-wise. (6) He it is Who has revealed the Book to you; some of its verses are decisive, they are the basis of the Book, and others are allegorical; then as for those in whose hearts there is perversity they follow the part of it which is allegorical, seeking to mislead and seeking to give it (their own) interpretation. but none knows its interpretation except Allah, and those who are firmly rooted in knowledge say: We believe in it, it is all from our Lord; and none do mind except those having understanding. (7) "Our Lord!" (they say), "Let not our hearts deviate now after Thou hast guided us, but grant us mercy from Thine own Presence; for Thou art the Grantor of bounties without measure. (8) Lord, You will surely gather all the people for a Day that will come in which there is no doubt' Allah will not break His promise. (9)
