Forgiver (Ghaafer)
85 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Throngs (Al-Zumer) before Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ha'. Mim. (1) The sending down of the Book is from Allah, the Almighty, the Knower. (2) The Forgiver of sin and the Accepter of repentance, who is severe in punishment and Infinite in His Bounty. There is no God but Him. All shall return to Him. (3) None except the disbelievers dispute the signs of Allah, therefore do not let their free movements in the land deceive you. (4) The people of Nuh (Noah) and the confederates after them denied (their Messengers) before these, and every (disbelieving) nation plotted against their Messenger to seize him, and disputed by means of falsehood to refute therewith the truth. So I seized them (with punishment), and how (terrible) was My punishment! (5) And this is how the Word of your Lord has proved true upon the disbelievers that they are people of the hell. (6) THEY WHO BEAR [within themselves the knowledge of] the throne of [God's] almightiness, as well as all who are near it, extol their Sustainer's limitless glory and praise, and have faith in Him, and ask forgiveness for all [others] who have attained to faith: "O our Sustainer! Thou embracest all things within [Thy] grace and knowledge: forgive, then, their sins unto those who repent and follow Thy path, and preserve them from suffering through the blazing fire! (7) “O Our Lord! And admit them into the Gardens of everlasting stay which you have promised them, and those who are virtuous among their forefathers and their wives and their offspring; indeed You only are the Most Honourable, the Wise.” (8) Lord, keep them away from evil deeds. Whomever You have saved from evil on the Day of Judgment has certainly been granted Your mercy and this is the greatest triumph. (9)
