Forgiver (Ghaafer)
85 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Throngs (Al-Zumer) before Elucidated (Fussilat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Ha Mim. (1) The revelation of the Book is from Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Knowing. (2) Forgiver of sin and Acceptor of repentance, severe in chastisement, Lord of Power. There is no god but He; unto Him is the journeying. (3) None but the unbelievers dispute concerning the signs of God; so let not their going to and fro in the land delude thee. (4) The people of Nuh and the parties after them rejected (prophets) before them, and every nation purposed against their apostle to destroy him, and they disputed by means of the falsehood that they might thereby render null the truth, therefore I destroyed them; how was then My retribution! (5) Thus has the word of your Lord come true against the deniers; they shall be the inmates of the Fire. (6) THEY WHO BEAR [within themselves the knowledge of] the throne of [God's] almightiness, as well as all who are near it, extol their Sustainer's limitless glory and praise, and have faith in Him, and ask forgiveness for all [others] who have attained to faith: "O our Sustainer! Thou embracest all things within [Thy] grace and knowledge: forgive, then, their sins unto those who repent and follow Thy path, and preserve them from suffering through the blazing fire! (7) Our Lord! make them enter the Everlasting Gardens which Thou hast promised them, and also such of their fathers and their spouses and their offspring as verify Thou: Thou art the Mighty, the Wise. (8) “And save them from the evil consequences of sins; and whomever You save from the evil consequences of sins on that Day so You have indeed had mercy upon him; and this only is the greatest success.” (9)
