۞ Say, [God says] "O My servants, who have committed excesses against their own souls, do not despair of God's mercy, for God surely forgives all sins. He is truly the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful. (53) Turn to your Lord and submit to Him before His scourge overtakes you, for then you shall not be helped. (54) Follow the best aspect of what is sent down to you from your Lord, before the scourge comes upon you unawares, (55) Lest a person should say: “Alas for me for neglecting my duty towards Allah and for being among those that scoffed”; (56) Or [lest] it say, "If only Allah had guided me, I would have been among the righteous." (57) Or (lest) he should say when he sees the torment: "If only I had another chance (to return to the world) then I should indeed be among the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112)." (58) It will be said to him, “Surely yes, why not?* My signs did come to you, so you denied them and you were haughty and you were a disbeliever.” (They will be mocked at.) (59) On the Day of Resurrection you shall see that the faces of those who had lied against Allah have turned dark. Is Hell not vast enough to provide a room to the vainglorious? (60) But God shall deliver those that were godfearing in their security; evil shall not visit them, neither shall they sorrow. (61) Allah is the Creator of everything, and He is over everything a Trustee. (62) unto Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth. And those who disbelieve in the signs of God, those they are the losers. (63)
