Not without purpose did We create heaven and earth and all between! that were the thought of Unbelievers! but woe to the Unbelievers because of the Fire (of Hell)! (27) shall We treat those who believe and do good works the same as those who spread corruption in the land; shall We treat the pious the same as the wicked? (28) (This is) a Book (the Quran) which We have sent down to you, full of blessings that they may ponder over its Verses, and that men of understanding may remember. (29) And to Dawud (David) We gave Sulaiman (Solomon). How excellent (a) slave! Verily, he was ever oft-returning in repentance (to Us)! (30) When well-bred horses, which were fleet of foot were paraded before him near the close of day, (31) Therefore Sulaiman said, “I cherish the love of these horses*, out of remembrance of my Lord”; he then ordered them to be raced until they vanished in a curtain out of sight. (To be used in holy war.) (32) Then he said "Bring them (horses) back to me." Then he began to pass his hand over their legs and their necks (till the end of the display). (33) We surely tried Solomon, and placed another body on his throne. So he turned to God (34) saying, "Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom that no one after me can have the like. You are All-munificent". (35) So We subjected to him the wind, that ran at his commandment, softly, wherever he might light on, (36) And We subjected to him the evil ones: every builder and diver. (37) And also others bound in fetters. (38) "Such are Our Bounties: whether thou bestow them (on others) or withhold them, no account will be asked." (39) Indeed an exalted position of nearness awaits him and an excellent resort. (40)
