Juz 23
S (Saad)
88 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Moon (Al-Qamar) before A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Sad. I swear by the Quran, which is full of reminders of God, (that you are a Messenger). (1) In fact, the disbelievers are in false pride and opposition. (2) Many a generation We did destroy before them thereupon they cried out whereas it is not the time to escape! (3) They wondered that a warner had come to them from among themselves, and the deniers of the Truth said: “This is a sorcerer, and a big liar. (4) Has he made the gods [only] one God? Indeed, this is a curious thing." (5) And the eminent among them went forth, [saying], "Continue, and be patient over [the defense of] your gods. Indeed, this is a thing intended. (6) "We never heard (the like) of this among the people of these latter days: this is nothing but a made-up tale!" (7) “Is the Qur’an which is sent to him, among us?” In fact they are in a doubt concerning My Book; in fact, they have not yet tasted My punishment. (8) Do they have the stores of the mercy of your Lord, the mighty and munificent? (9) Have they control over heavens and earth and whatever [lies] between them? Then let them climb up to heaven by ropes: (10) This is just one of the disgraced armies, that will be routed there and then. (11) Before them the people of Noah, Ad, and Pharaoh of the tent-pegs gave the lie (to the Messengers) (12) and so did Thamud and the people of Lot and the people of Aykah. These were all leagued together. (13) Not one (of them) but rejected the messengers, but My punishment came justly and inevitably (on them). (14)
