In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Sad. By the Qur'an full of admonition. (1) Verily those who disbelieve are in vainglory and schism. (2) How many a nation did We destroy before them! (When they approached their doom) they cried out (for deliverance), but the time for deliverance was already past. (3) They marvel now that, from among themselves, a warner has come to them. The unbelievers say: 'This is a lying sorcerer. (4) “Has he made all the Gods into One God? This is really something very strange!” (5) And the leader among them go away (impatiently), (saying), "Walk ye away, and remain constant to your gods! For this is truly a thing designed (against you)! (6) "We have not heard (the like) of this among the people of these later days. This is nothing but an invention! (7) "What! has the Message been sent to him - (Of all persons) among us?"... but they are in doubt concerning My (Own) Message! Nay, they have not yet tasted My Punishment! (8) Or is it that they have the treasures of the mercy of your Lord, the Mighty, the great Giver? (9) Or is it that theirs is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and what is between them? Then let them ascend by any (10) They are only a small band among the defeated confederate tribes. (11) Before them the people of Noah, Ad, and Pharaoh of the tent-pegs gave the lie (to the Messengers) (12) And Thamud, and the people of Lout (Lot), and the dwellers of the wood; such were the confederates. (13) not one [was there] but gave the lie to the apostles - and thereupon My retribution fell due. (14)
