In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Saad* By oath of the renowned Qur’an, (Alphabet of the Arabic language; Allah and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) (1) But the unbelievers are still full of pride and hostility. (2) How many a generation We destroyed before them, and they cried out when it was no longer the time for escape! (3) Now they marvel that a warner has come to them from among them; and the unbelievers say, 'This is a lying sorcerer. (4) They say, "Has he condemned all other gods but One? This is certainly strange". (5) And the leaders among them went about (saying): "Go on, and remain constant to your aliha (gods)! Verily, This is a thing designed (against you)! (6) We never heard of it in the former faith. It is surely a fabrication. (7) To him of all of us has the Reminder been sent down?" They are still in doubt about My admonition; but they have not tasted My punishment yet! (8) Or, are with them the treasures of the mercy of thy Lord, the Bestower? (9) Or is it that theirs is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and what is between them? Then let them ascend by any (10) this host too, among other hosts, is bound to suffer defeat. (11) The folk of Noah before them denied (their messenger) and (so did the tribe of) A'ad, and Pharaoh firmly planted, (12) And Thamud, and the people of Lout (Lot), and the dwellers of the wood; such were the confederates. (13) Each of them denied the messengers, so My penalty was justified. (14)
