In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Sad. By the Koran, containing the Remembrance -- (1) But the Unbelievers (are steeped) in self-glory and Separatism. (2) How many a generation We destroyed before them, and they cried out when it was no longer the time for escape! (3) And they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves. And the disbelievers say, "This is a magician and a liar. (4) What, has he made the gods One God? This is indeed a wondrous thing' (5) A group of the pagans walked out of a meeting with the Prophet and told the others, "Let us walk away. Be steadfast in the worship of your gods. This man wants to dominate you. (6) We heard not thereof in the later faith; this is naught but an invention. (7) “Is the Qur’an which is sent to him, among us?” In fact they are in a doubt concerning My Book; in fact, they have not yet tasted My punishment. (8) Or do they [think that they] own the treasures of thy Sustainer's grace - [the grace] of the Almighty, the Giver of Gifts? (9) Or, is theirs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and that which is in-between the twain? If so, let them ascend by steps. (10) A host of deserters of the allies shall be here put to flight. (11) Before them (were many who) belied Messengers, the people of Nuh (Noah); and 'Ad; and Fir'aun (Pharaoh) the man of stakes (with which he used to punish the people), (12) And (the tribe of) Thamud, and the folk of Lot, and the dwellers in the wood: these were the factions. (13) There was not one of them but treated their messengers as liars, so My punishment rightly overtook them: (14)
