So also was Jonah among those sent (by Us). (139) When he ran away to a ship completely laden, (140) And lots were cast (when a storm overtook them), he was rejected, (and thrown overboard). (141) then the whale swallowed him down, and he blameworthy. (142) But had it not been that he was of those who glorify (Us), (143) He would have tarried in its belly till the day when they are raised; (144) ۞ Then We cast him on a bare desert whilst he was sick. (145) And We caused a plant of gourd to grow over him. (146) and We sent him forth to a nation of a hundred thousand or more, (147) And they believed, so We gave them provision till a time. (148) Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), whether the daughters are for your Lord and the sons for them! (149) Or that We created the angels female, and they are witnesses (thereto)? (150) Then is it of their lying that they say: (151) 'God has begotten?' They are truly liars. (152) (And again of their falsehood): He hath preferred daughters to sons. (153) What is the matter with you, how is it that you judge? (154) Will you not then mind? (155) Or have you, perchance, a clear evidence [for your assertions]? (156) Then bring your book, if you are truthful. (157) And they have invented a kinship between Him and the jinns, but the jinns know well that they have indeed to appear (before Him) (i.e. they will be brought for accounts). (158) Glory be to Allah (for freedom) from what they describe; (159) Except the bondmen of Allah sincere. (160) You and whatever you worship (161) Ye cannot excite (anyone) against Him. (162) except him who shall roast in Hell. (163) None of us is there, but has a known station; (164) Verily we range ourselves in rows (as humble servants) (165) Lo! we, even we are they who hymn His praise (166) And indeed the disbelievers used to say, (167) Had we but an admonition as had the ancients. (168) we would certainly be true servants of God." (169) And yet, [now that this divine writ has been placed before them,] they refuse to acknowledge it as true! In time, however, they will come to know [what it was that they had rejected]: (170) And Our word has already preceded for Our servants, the messengers, (171) that they shall receive Our help (172) and Our armies shall be the victors. (173) So, [O Muhammad], leave them for a time. (174) And wait; they will come to know soon. (175) Do they want to hasten Our punishment? (176) When it descends into their courtyard, it will be terrible for those who have already been warned. (177) So turn (O Muhammad SAW) away from them for a while, (178) And wait, for they will soon see. (179) LIMITLESS in His glory is thy Sustainer, the Lord of almightiness, [exalted] above anything that men may devise by way of definition! (180) And peace be unto the sent ones. (181) And all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. (182)
True are the words of God the Almighty.
