AND, BEHOLD, Jonah was indeed one of Our message-bearers (139) Recall what time he ran away unto a laden ship. (140) Then lots were drawn and he became of those who were pushed into the sea. (141) So the fish swallowed him while he did that for which he blamed himself (142) And had he not been of those who exalt Allah, (143) he would have lingered in its belly till the Day they are resurrected. (144) ۞ But We caused him to be cast forth on to the beach, sick as he was, (145) And We grew a tree of gourd (as a shelter) above him. (146) And We sent him to [his people of] a hundred thousand or more. (147) and [this time] they believed [in him] and so We allowed them to enjoy their life during the time allotted to them? (148) Now ask them (O Muhammad): Hath thy Lord daughters whereas they have sons? (149) or is it that We have created the angels female, and they [who believe them to be divine] have witnessed [that act of creation]? (150) Behold, it is one of their fabrications that they say: (151) That “Allah has offspring”; and indeed, surely, they are liars. (152) Does He prefer sons to daughters? (153) “What is the matter with you? What sort of a judgement you impose!” (154) Will you not then mind? (155) Or is there for you a plain authority? (156) Bring your Book, if what you say is true! (157) They claim that He has kinship with the jinn, yet the jinn themselves know that they will be produced before Him [for judgement]. (158) Hallowed be Allah from that which they ascribe to Him. (159) Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. (160) So neither you nor those you worship (161) You cannot tempt [anyone] away from Him (162) except those who are doomed to enter hell. (163) There is not one of us (angels) but has his known place (or position); (164) Verily, we (angels), we stand in rows for the prayers (as you Muslims stand in rows for your prayers); (165) we are they that give glory. (166) And indeed, the disbelievers used to say, (167) Had we but an admonition as had the ancients. (168) we would have certainly been sincere servants of God". (169) And yet, [now that this divine writ has been placed before them,] they refuse to acknowledge it as true! In time, however, they will come to know [what it was that they had rejected]: (170) Our Word had already preceded Our worshipers, the Messengers, (171) that it is certainly they who will be helped; (172) And that Our host, they verily would be the victors. (173) So turn thou away from them for a little while, (174) And wait; they will come to know soon. (175) So are they being impatient for Our punishment? (176) When that chastisement will descend upon their courtyard, evil shall that Day be for those who had been warned. (177) And turn away from them till a time (178) And see thou: they themselves shall presently see. (179) Glory be to your Lord: the Lord of Glory is far above what they attribute to Him. (180) And peace be upon the Envoys; (181) And praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds! (182)
Almighty Allah's Truth.
