Verily Jonah is one of the apostles. (139) when he fled like a runaway slave onto a laden ship. (140) and sailed away in a laden ship, wherein people cast lots. Because he lost, he was thrown into the water. (141) Then the big Fish did swallow him, and he had done acts worthy of blame. (142) Had he not glorified God, (143) he would certainly have remained in its belly till the Day of Resurrection. (144) ۞ But We threw him on a wide bare tract of land while he was ill; (145) And We caused to grow, over him, a spreading plant of the gourd kind. (146) And We sent him to a hundred thousand, rather they exceeded. (147) and they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. (148) Now ask them (O Muhammad): Hath thy Lord daughters whereas they have sons? (149) Did We create the angels females, to which they were witnesses? (150) Lo! verily it is of their falsehood that they say: (151) "God has begotten (children)?" They are liars indeed! (152) "He has chosen daughters in preference to sons"! (153) What is the matter with you? How do you judge? (154) Will you then not take heed? (155) Or, is there for you a clear warranty (156) Bring your Book, if you speak truly! (157) And they have invented a kinship between Him and the jinns, but the jinns know well that they have indeed to appear (before Him) (i.e. they will be brought for accounts). (158) Exaltations to Allah above what they describe, (159) except the servants of God, sincere and devoted. (160) You and whatever you worship (161) you shall tempt none against Him (162) except those who are doomed to enter hell. (163) [The angels say], "There is not among us any except that he has a known position. (164) we are those who stand ranged in ranks. (165) and we glorify God". (166) And they surely were wont to say: (167) "If only we had had before us a Message from those of old, (168) We would certainly have been the servants of Allah-- the purified ones. (169) Yet they disbelieve therein. Presently they shall come to know. (170) And verily Our word went forth of old unto Our bondmen sent (to warn) (171) That they would be helped, (172) and that, verily, Our hosts - they indeed - would [in the end] be victorious! (173) Therefore turn away from them for some time. (174) And see them thou; they themselves shall presently see. (175) Do they wish (indeed) to hurry on our Punishment? (176) When it comes down on their plains, it will be an evil dawn for those who had been warned. (177) And turn away from them till a time (178) And watch; they will come to know soon. (179) Purity is to your Lord, the Lord of Honour, from all what they say. (180) So peace be on the messengers, (181) And all praise unto Allah the Lord of the worlds. (182)
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
