And lo! Jonah verily was of those sent (to warn) (139) He ran away to the laden ship, (140) and cast lots, and was of the rebutted, (141) And a fish swallowed him, and he was reproaching himself. (142) But had it not been that he was of those who glorify (Us), (143) He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected. (144) ۞ But We caused him to be cast forth on to the beach, sick as he was, (145) And We caused to grow, over him, a spreading plant of the gourd kind. (146) We sent him as a messenger to a hundred thousand people or more, (147) and they believed, and We gave them enjoyment for awhile. (148) Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), whether the daughters are for your Lord and the sons for them! (149) Or created We the angels females while they were present? (150) Verily, it is of their falsehood that they (Quraish pagans) say: (151) "God has begotten (children)?" They are liars indeed! (152) Has He (then) chosen daughters rather than sons? (153) What ails you then, how you judge? (154) Will you not, then, bethink yourselves? (155) “Or do you have some clear proof?” (156) Then produce your scriptures, if you are telling the truth. (157) And they have appointed a relationship between Him and the jinns; and indeed the jinns surely know that they will be brought forth. (158) God is too glorious for what they ascribe to Him (159) but not so the true servants of God, (160) But as for you, and that you serve, (161) can cause anyone to fall prey to your temptation (162) except those who will burn in Hell. (163) As for us, there is none but has an appointed station. (164) Lo! we, even we are they who set the ranks, (165) And we are most surely they who declare the glory (of Allah). (166) And indeed the disbelievers used to say, (167) If we had but a reminder from the men of old (168) we would certainly be true servants of God." (169) Yet now (that it has come) they refuse to believe in it; but they will come to know soon. (170) Our word had already been given before to Our votaries, the apostles, -- (171) That they would certainly be assisted, (172) And [that] indeed, Our soldiers will be those who overcome. (173) So turn thou from them for a while, (174) See them and soon they shall see. (175) Do they want to suffer Our torment immediately? (176) When that chastisement will descend upon their courtyard, evil shall that Day be for those who had been warned. (177) Leave them alone for a while, (178) And see, for they are going to see. (179) Glorified be thy Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they attribute (unto Him) (180) Peace be on the Messengers. (181) And Praise to Allah, the Lord and Cherisher of the Worlds. (182)
Almighty Allah's Truth.
