AND, BEHOLD, Jonah was indeed one of Our message-bearers (139) He fled to the overloaded ship. (140) And then they cast lots and he was the one who lost, (141) Then a fish swallowed him, and he was blameworthy. (142) Had he not glorified God, (143) He would have remained in its belly till the day when all will be raised. (144) ۞ But We caused him to be cast forth on to the beach, sick as he was, (145) and We caused a pumpkin tree to grow over him. (146) And We had sent him to a hundred thousand: rather they exceeded. (147) And they believed, so We gave them enjoyment [of life] for a time. (148) Now ask them if their Lord has daughters, and they sons? (149) Or did We create the angels as females while they were witnesses?" (150) It is only because of their false invention that they say, (151) That “Allah has offspring”; and indeed, surely, they are liars. (152) "He has chosen daughters in preference to sons"! (153) What is the matter with you? How judge ye? (154) Will ye not then receive admonition? (155) Or have ye an authority manifest? (156) Then bring ye your Book (of authority) if ye be truthful! (157) And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him). (158) God is too glorious for what they ascribe to Him (159) Save single-minded slaves of Allah. (160) You and whatever you worship (161) Ye cannot excite (anyone) against Him. (162) except him who shall roast in the Blazing Fire. (163) [The angels say], "Every single one of us has his place assigned: (164) We stand in ranks (for prayer) (165) and, verily, we too extol His limitless glory!" (166) And surely they used to say: (167) “If we had some advice from the earlier generations,” (168) Surely we would have been the bondmen of God sincere. (169) They therefore denied it, so they will soon come to know. (170) We have already given Our promise to Our Messengers (171) That they verily would be helped, (172) And verily Our host! they are to be overcome. (173) So turn thou from them for a while, (174) And see [what will befall] them, for they are going to see. (175) Do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? (176) So when it does descend in their courtyards so what an evil morning it will be for those who were warned! (177) So turn thou away from them for a little while, (178) and see; and they too shall soon see. (179) Your Lord, the Lord of Honor, is too exalted to be considered as they describe Him. (180) Peace be with the Messengers (of God). (181) And all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. (182)
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
