Jonah too was one of the Envoys; (139) Recall what time he ran away unto a laden ship. (140) And then they cast lots and he was the one who lost, (141) Then a fish swallowed him, and he was blameworthy. (142) Had he not been one of those who struggled hard, (143) he would have tarried in its belly until the day they shall be raised; (144) ۞ But We caused him to be cast forth on to the beach, sick as he was, (145) And We caused to grow, over him, a spreading plant of the gourd kind. (146) And We sent him to [his people of] a hundred thousand or more. (147) and they believed. So We let them enjoy life for a while. (148) Now ask thou them: are there for thy Lord daughters and for them sons? (149) Or did We create the angels females, while they were witnesses? (150) Verily, it is of their falsehood that they (Quraish pagans) say: (151) "Allah has begotten children"? but they are liars! (152) Did He (then) choose daughters rather than sons? (153) What is the matter with you? How do you form your judgement? (154) What, will you not remember? (155) Or do you have a clear authority? (156) Bring your Book, if you speak truly! (157) They have set up a kinship between Him and the jinn; and the jinn know that they shall be arraigned. (158) Hallowed be Allah from that which they ascribe to Him. (159) except for the sincere worshipers of Allah. (160) Therefore you and all what you worship. (The disbelievers and their deities.) (161) you shall tempt none against Him (162) except for he who shall roast in Hell. (163) [The angels say], "There is not among us any except that he has a known position. (164) we are the rangers, (165) And we are they who exalt (Allah)' (166) Even though they (unbelievers) say, (167) If we had the account of earlier people with us, (168) We would have been the chosen creatures of God." (169) But they disbelieved in it, so they are going to know. (170) And Our word has already preceded for Our servants, the messengers, (171) That they verily would be made triumphant. (172) And that Our host, they verily would be the victors. (173) So turn thou from them for a while, (174) And wait; they will come to know soon. (175) Do they seek to hasten on Our Torment? (176) Then when it descendeth unto them face to face, a hapless morn that shall be for those who were warned. (177) Stay away from them for a while (178) And watch and they shall see (the torment)! (179) Glory to thy Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they ascribe (to Him)! (180) Peace be with the Messengers (of God). (181) And Praise to Allah, the Lord and Cherisher of the Worlds. (182)
God the Almighty always says the truth.
