And Yunus was most surely of the apostles. (139) When he ran to the laden ship, (140) So he shared (with them), but was of those who are cast off. (141) So the whale swallowed him, for he was blameworthy, (142) And were he not one of those who praise. (143) He would have tarried in the belly thereof till the Day when they are raised. (144) ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore while he was sick, (145) And We caused a tree of gourd to grow above him; (146) And We sent him to a hundred thousand, rather they exceeded. (147) And they believed; so We permitted them to enjoy (their life) for a while. (148) Now ask them if their Lord has daughters, and they sons? (149) or is it that We have created the angels female, and they [who believe them to be divine] have witnessed [that act of creation]? (150) Oh, verily, it is out of their own [inclination to] falsehood that some people assert, (151) "Allah has begotten off spring or children (i.e. angels are the daughters of Allah)?" And, verily, they are liars! (152) Has He chosen daughters above sons? (153) What is amiss with you and your judgment? (154) Will you not then remember? (155) Or is there for you a plain authority? (156) Then produce your writ, if ye are truthful. (157) And some people have invented a kinship between Him and all manner of invisible forces although [even] these invisible forces know well that, verily, they [who thus blaspheme against God] shall indeed be arraigned [before Him on Judgment Day: for] (158) Glory be to Allah (for freedom) from what they describe; (159) Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. (160) So you and your deities (161) shall not be able to tempt anyone away from Allah (162) except those who will burn in Hell. (163) And there is none of us but has an assigned place, (164) we are the rangers, (165) And verily we! we hallow. (166) They say, (167) Had we but an admonition as had the ancients. (168) "We would have indeed been the chosen slaves of Allah (true believers of Islamic Monotheism)!" (169) Yet they disbelieve therein. Presently they shall come to know. (170) Already Our Word has preceded to Our servants, the Envoys; (171) That they verily would be made triumphant. (172) And [that] indeed, Our soldiers will be those who overcome. (173) So you ignore them for a time (174) and watch them. They, too, will watch. (175) Our torment seek they to hasten on! (176) When that chastisement will descend upon their courtyard, evil shall that Day be for those who had been warned. (177) Leave them alone for a while, (178) and see, soon they shall see! (179) Your Lord, the Lord of Honor, is too exalted to be considered as they describe Him. (180) And peace be on the Messengers! (181) And Praise to Allah, the Lord and Cherisher of the Worlds. (182)
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
