Noah called to Us; and how excellent were the Answerers! (75) And We saved him and his household from the great distress, (76) And his offspring! them We made the survivors. (77) and We left him thus to be remembered among later generations: (78) "Peace be upon Noah throughout all the worlds!" (79) Verily, thus We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). (80) Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. (81) Then We drowned the others (82) ۞ And indeed, among his kind was Abraham, (83) When he came to his Lord with a sound heart (84) Recall what time he said unto his father and his people: What is it that ye worship? (85) "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire? (86) What, then, do you think of the Sustainer of all the worlds?" (87) Then he looked at the stars, looking up once, (88) and said, "I am sick!" (89) So turning their backs, they went away from him. (90) Then he turned to their gods, and said, 'What do you eat? (91) What is the matter with you, why do you not speak?” (92) Then he attacked them, striking with his right hand. (93) whereupon people came to him running. (94) He said, "How can you worship what you yourselves have carved (95) when it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" (96) They spoke among themselves: “Build him a pyre and then throw him into the furnace.” (97) They plotted against him, but We brought humiliation upon them. (98) And [then] he said, "Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me. (99) My Lord! Vouchsafe me of the righteous. (100) We gave him the glad news of the birth of a forbearing son. (101) and when he was old enough to go about and work with him, (one day) Abraham said to him: “My son, I see in my dream that I am slaughtering you. So consider (and tell me) what you think.” He said: “Do as you are bidden. You will find me, if Allah so wills, among the steadfast.” (102) So when they had both submitted their wills (to Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (for sacrifice), (103) We called out to him "O Abraham! (104) thou hast already fulfilled [the purpose of] that dream-vision!" Thus, verily, do We reward the doers of good: (105) For this was obviously a trial- (106) And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, (107) And left (his hallowed memory) for posterity. (108) "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" (109) That is how We reward those who do good. (110) He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. (111) And we gave him tidings of the birth of Isaac, a prophet of the righteous. (112) We blessed him and Isaac: but of their progeny are (some) that do right, and (some) that obviously do wrong, to their own souls. (113)
