(In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer. (75) We rescued him and his people from the greatest affliction (76) and We made his seed the survivors, (77) And We kept his praise among the latter generations. (78) "Peace upon Noah among the worlds." (79) This is how We reward the virtuous. (80) He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. (81) Then We drowned the others. (82) ۞ And verily of his sect was Ibrahim. (83) Behold! he approached his Lord with a sound heart. (84) Behold! he said to his father and to his people, "What is that which ye worship? (85) "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire? (86) "Then what do you think about the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists)?" (87) Then he cast a glance at the stars, (88) And he said, "I am indeed sick (at heart)!" (89) All the people turned away from him (90) Then he turned to their aliha (gods) and said: "Will you not eat (of the offering before you)? (91) What is amiss with you that you do not speak?" (92) Then he started striking them down with his right hand. (93) So they (people) advanced towards him, hastening. (94) He said, "How can you worship what you yourselves have carved (95) when it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" (96) They exclaimed: "Build a pyre for him, and cast him into the blazing fire!" (97) And they designed a snare for him, but We made them the undermost. (98) He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me! (99) “My Lord! Give me a meritorious child.” (100) We therefore gave him the glad tidings of an intelligent son. (101) and when he was old enough to go about and work with him, (one day) Abraham said to him: “My son, I see in my dream that I am slaughtering you. So consider (and tell me) what you think.” He said: “Do as you are bidden. You will find me, if Allah so wills, among the steadfast.” (102) When they had both submitted to God, and he had laid his son down on his face, (103) We called out to him "O Abraham! (104) you have fulfilled the dream." It is thus indeed that We reward those who do good, (105) Indeed this was a clear test. (106) So, We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, (107) And We left for him among the later folk (the salutation): (108) Peace be unto Ibrahim: (109) As such We recompense the gooddoers. (110) He was one of Our believing servants. (111) And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the Hidden, from among those who deserve Our proximity. (112) And We blessed him and Isaac. And of their seed are some who do good, and some who plainly wrong themselves. (113)
