Noah cried to Us, and how excellent was Our response! (75) We saved him and his family from the great affliction, (76) And his offspring! them We made the survivors. (77) We perpetuated his praise in later generations. (78) Peace on Noah among all men. (79) Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. (80) he was one of Our believing worshipers. (81) [and so We saved him and those who followed him] and then We caused the others to drown. (82) ۞ And most surely Ibrahim followed his way. (83) When he came to his Lord with a heart compliant, (84) and when he said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship? (85) Would you serve false deities instead of God? (86) "Then what do you think about the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists)?" (87) And he cast a glance at the stars, (88) He then said, “I feel sick (of you)!” (89) So they turned away from him, and departed. (90) Then he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? (91) “What is the matter with you, that you do not say anything?” (92) Then he started striking them down with his right hand. (93) So they (people) advanced towards him, hastening. (94) He said: "Worship ye that which ye have (yourselves) carved? (95) and God created you and what you make?' (96) They replied: 'Build for him a building and cast him into the fire' (97) They had contrived an evil plan against him, but We abased them all. (98) And he said: "I am going away to my Lord who will show me the way. (99) (And he prayed:) "O Lord, grant me a righteous son." (100) We gave him the good news that he would have a patient, forbearing son. (101) And, when he (his son) was old enough to walk with him, he said: "O my son! I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you (offer you in sacrifice to Allah), so look what you think!" He said: "O my father! Do that which you are commanded, Insha' Allah (if Allah will), you shall find me of As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.)." (102) Then, when they had both surrendered (to Allah), and he had flung him down upon his face, (103) We called out to him "O Abraham! (104) You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good: (105) that surely was a manifest trial, (106) And We ransomed him with a mighty victim. (107) And We perpetuated (praise) to him among the later generations. (108) "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" (109) Thus indeed do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). (110) Surely he was one of Our believing servants. (111) And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the Hidden, from among those who deserve Our proximity. (112) We blessed him and Isaac: but of their progeny are (some) that do right, and (some) that obviously do wrong, to their own souls. (113)
