And Noah had certainly called Us, and [We are] the best of responders. (75) We saved him and his people from great distress, (76) and We made his offspring the only survivors. (77) And We kept his praise among the latter generations. (78) Peace be upon Noah among all the nations. (79) That is how We reward those who do good. (80) for he was truly one of our believing servants: (81) Afterwards We drowned the others. (82) ۞ And indeed Ibrahim is from his (Nooh’s) group. (83) When he came unto his Lord with a whole heart; (84) and said to his father and his people: “Whom do you worship? (85) "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire? (86) What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds?" (87) Then he glanced a glance on the stars. (88) He then said, “I feel sick (of you)!” (89) So they turned away from him, departing. (90) Then he turned aside to their gods secretly and said: What! do you not eat? (91) What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?" (92) Then he turned upon them, striking (them) with (his) right hand. (93) His people came rushing towards him, (94) He said, "How can you worship what you yourselves have carved (95) even though God created both you and that which you have made?" (96) They said: Build for him a furnace, then cast him into the burning fire. (97) And they devised a plot for him, but We made them the humble. (98) And he said: Surely I fly to my lord; He will guide me. (99) My Lord, give me one of the righteous.' (100) (In response to this prayer) We gave him the good news of a prudent boy; (101) and when he was old enough to go about and work with him, (one day) Abraham said to him: “My son, I see in my dream that I am slaughtering you. So consider (and tell me) what you think.” He said: “Do as you are bidden. You will find me, if Allah so wills, among the steadfast.” (102) And when they had both submitted, and his son had laid down prostrate upon his forehead, (103) We called unto him: O Abraham! (104) You have fulfilled the dream (vision)!" Verily! Thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). (105) That was indeed a clear trial. (106) And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice (i.e. a ram); (107) and perpetuated his praise in later generations. (108) 'Peace be upon Abraham' (109) Thus do We reward the doers of good (110) Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. (111) And We gave him the glad tidings of Is-haq, a prophet, and of the righteous. (112) And We blessed him and Isaac. Among their descendants are some who do good, but some who wrong themselves. (113)
