(In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer. 75 We saved him and his people from great distress, 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 And We perpetuated to him (praise) among the later generations. 78 Peace be upon Nooh, among the entire people. 79 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 80 he was truly one of Our faithful servants. 81 Then We did drown the others. 82 ۞ And indeed, among his kind was Abraham, 83 Behold! he approached his Lord with a sound heart. 84 and said to his father and his people: “Whom do you worship? 85 It is falsehood that you desire gods other than Allah! 86 What do you think of the Lord of the whole Universe?” 87 He then shot a glance at the stars. 88 He then said, “I feel sick (of you)!” 89 So they departed from him turning their backs. 90 He turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What is the matter with you, why do you not speak?” 92 Then he turned against them secretly, smiting them with the right hand. 93 So the disbelievers came running towards him. 94 He said, “What! You worship what you yourselves have sculpted?” 95 Whereas Allah hath created you and that which ye make? 96 They said, "Let us build a fire and throw him into the flames". 97 So they tried to execute their evil scheme upon him We therefore degraded them. (Allah saved him, by commanding the fire to turn cool). 98 And he said: verily I am going to my Lord who will guide me. 99 My Lord! grant me of the doers of good deeds. 100 We therefore gave him the glad tidings of an intelligent son. 101 And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast. 102 Then when the twain had submitted themselves and he had prostrated him upon his temple. 103 We called to him, "O Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 105 Indeed this was a clear test. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among later generations: 108 "Peace be upon Abraham!" 109 Verily We! thus We compense the well-doers. 110 He was one of Our believing worshipers. 111 And we gave him tidings of the birth of Isaac, a prophet of the righteous. 112 And We sent blessings upon him and Ishaq; and among their descendants some who do good deeds, and some who clearly wrong themselves. 113
