۞ "Bring ye up", it shall be said, "The wrong-doers and their wives, and the things they worshipped- (22) “Instead of Allah and herd them to the path leading to hell.” (23) "But stop them, for they must be asked: (24) How is it that you are not helping one another? (25) In fact, on that day they will be submissive. (26) They will turn upon one another, and question one another. (27) They will say, "Indeed, you used to come at us from the right." (28) They will reply: "Nay, ye yourselves had no Faith! (29) “And we did not have any control over you; but in fact you yourselves were rebellious.” (30) But now our Lord's word has come true against us: truly, we are bound to taste [the punishment]. (31) "We led you astray: for truly we were ourselves astray." (32) So they shall on that day be sharers in the chastisement one with another. (33) Verily that is how We shall deal with Sinners. (34) Indeed they, when it was said to them, "There is no deity but Allah," were arrogant (35) saying, 'What, shall we forsake our gods for a poet possessed?' (36) Nay: he has come with the truth and verified the apostles. (37) (They will be told): “You shall taste the grievous chastisement. (38) but you shall not be recompensed except for what you were doing. (39) Not so, however, God's true servants: (40) For them there is a known provision, (41) Fruits. And they will be honoured (42) in the Gardens of Bliss (43) Facing one another on thrones. (44) A cup will be passed round among them [with a drink] from unsullied springs, (45) White, delicious to the drinkers, (46) wherein no sickness is, neither intoxication; (47) And with them shall be those who restrain the eyes, having beautiful eyes; (48) like closely guarded pearls. (49) And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. (50) One of them will say: 'I had a companion (51) Who would say, 'Are you indeed of those who believe (52) Can we, when we are dead and have become mere dust and bones - can we (then) verily be brought to book? (53) [And] he adds: "Would you like to look [and see him]?" (54) And he will look and see him in the midst of the Hellfire. (55) He said: "By Allah! thou wast little short of bringing me to perdition! (56) "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought forth (to Hell)." (57) Then, are we not to die (58) "Except our first death, and that we shall not be punished?" (59) Lo! this is the supreme triumph. (60) For the like of this, then, let the workers work. (61) Is this a better hospitality or the tree of AzZakkum! (62) which We have made as a torment for the unjust? (63) It is a tree that grows from the bottom of Hell; (64) Its spathes are like the prickly pear. (65) And verily they must eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. (66) then in addition to it they shall have a draught of boiling water to drink; (67) Then their return will be to the same blazing Hell. (68) They had indeed found their forefathers astray. (69) so they are rushing to follow in their footsteps. (70) Before them a multitude of people of olden times had erred, (71) though We had sent among them warners. (72) Observe, then, what was the end of those that had been warned, (73) except for God's sincere servants. (74)
