Juz 23
۞ But We shall say, "Assemble those who did wrong together with their associates and what they worshipped (22) Other than Allah, and guide them to the path of Hellfire (23) And halt them, to be questioned: (24) They will be asked, "Why do you not help each other?" (25) In fact, on that day they will be submissive. (26) They will turn upon one another, and question one another. (27) They will say: verily ye! ye were wont to come unto us Imposing. (28) Others will respond, "It was you who did not want to have any faith. (29) we had no power over you; but you yourselves were a rebellious people. (30) So our Lord's Word is realised against us; we are tasting it. (31) We seduced you astray; verily we were ourselves the seduced ones. (32) So indeed they, that Day, will be sharing in the punishment. (33) This is how We deal with the criminals. (34) Surely they used to behave proudly when it was said to them: There is no god but Allah; (35) And were saying, "Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet?" (36) Nay! he has come with the (very) Truth, and he confirms (the Message of) the messengers (before him). (37) Lo! (now) verily ye taste the painful doom - (38) and will be recompensed only for what you deserve. (39) Save the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, true believers of Islamic Monotheism). (40) Those will have a provision determined - (41) Fruits (Delights); and they (shall enjoy) honour and dignity, (42) In Gardens of Felicity, (43) (Sitting) on couches, face to face, (44) A drink will be passed round among them from a flowing spring: (45) White, delicious to the drinkers, (46) There shall be no trouble in it, nor shall they be exhausted therewith. (47) And besides them will be chaste women, restraining their glances, with big eyes (of wonder and beauty). (48) (Delicate and pure) as if they were (hidden) eggs (well) preserved. (49) And some of them draw near unto others, mutually questioning. (50) One of them will start the talk and say: "I had an intimate companion (on the earth), (51) "Who used to say, 'what! art thou amongst those who bear witness to the Truth (of the Message)? (52) [that] after we have died and become mere dust and bones we shall, forsooth, be brought to judgment?"' (53) (A voice) said: "Would ye like to look down?" (54) He will look down and see him in hell. (55) He said: "By Allah! thou wast little short of bringing me to perdition! (56) Had I not the guidance of my Lord, I would certainly have been brought into torment". (57) (Allah informs about that true believer that he said): "Are we then not to die (any more)? (58) except for our first death? And shall we suffer no chastisement?'” (59) Verily this! that is the supreme achievement. (60) For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work. (61) Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? (62) We have made this (tree) a trial for the evildoers. (63) Verily, it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-fire, (64) its spathes are as the heads of Satans, (65) The dwellers of hell will eat that fruit and fill-up their bellies. (66) Then indeed, they will have after it a mixture of scalding water. (67) Then most surely their return shall be to hell. (68) Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path; (69) So they hastily follow their footsteps! (70) Before them a multitude of people of olden times had erred, (71) and We sent among them warners; (72) Therefore see what sort of fate befell those who were warned! (73) except the sincere worshipers of Allah. (74)
