The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
182 verses, revealed in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those (angels) ranged in ranks (or rows). (1) And those who drive [the clouds] (2) Then those who recite, being mindful, (3) Lo! thy Lord is surely One; (4) Lord of the heavens and of the earth, and all that is between them, and Lord of every point of the sun's risings. (None has the right to be worshipped but Allah). (5) Indeed, We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment of stars (6) and guarded it against all rebellious devils: (7) [So] they may not listen to the exalted assembly [of angels] and are pelted from every side, (8) Being driven off, and for them is a perpetual chastisement, (9) Some of them who stealthily steal words from the heavens are pursued by a glistening flame. (10) So ask them if they are more difficult to create, or the rest We have created? Indeed (man) We created from fermented clay. (11) No wonder you are surprised as they laugh with scorn. (12) and when they are reminded [of the truth,] they refuse to take it to heart; (13) And when they see a sign, they ridicule (14) And they say, “This is nothing but clear magic.” (15) When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then, forsooth, be raised (again)? (16) along with our forefathers?" (17) Say: Aye! and you shall be abject. (18) So that is just a single jolt, thereupon they will begin staring. (19) And they shall say: O woe to us! this is the day of requital. (20) [They will be told], "This is the Day of Judgement which you used to deny." (21)
