The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
182 verses, revealed in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By those who range themselves in ranks, (1) and the drivers driving, (2) and conveying [to all the world] a reminder: (3) surely your God is One, (4) the Lord of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them; the Lord of the Easts. (5) Indeed, We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment of stars (6) (For beauty) and for guard against all obstinate rebellious evil spirits, (7) [So] they may not listen to the exalted assembly [of angels] and are pelted from every side, (8) They are rejected and theirs is an everlasting punishment; (9) Except him who snatches off but once, then there follows him a brightly shining flame. (10) So ask them (that is, human beings): “Were they harder to create than the objects We created?” We created them from sticky clay. (11) Nay, thou marvellest; and they scoff (12) and when they are reminded [of the truth,] they refuse to take it to heart; (13) and, when they see a sign, would scoff; (14) And say, "This is not but obvious magic. (15) What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we be resurrected. (16) "And also our fathers of old?" (17) Say: 'Yes, but worthless' (18) It will be but one Shout, then see, they are watching (19) And they will say: Ah! woe be unto us! this is the Day of Requital. (20) This is the Day of Judgment which ye were wont to belie. (21)
