Hizb 45
Juz 23
Strike for them a similitude -- the inhabitants of the city, when the Envoys came to it; (13) When We sent to them two, they rejected both of them, then We strengthened (them) with a third, so they said: Surely we are apostles to you. (14) They said: Ye are but mortals like unto us. The Beneficent hath naught revealed. Ye do but lie! (15) They answered: Our Lord knoweth that we are indeed sent unto you, (16) who have been sent to you. Our only duty is to preach clearly to you". (17) The people said, "We have ill omens about you. If you will not desist, we shall stone you and make you suffer a painful torment". (18) They said: 'Your prediction is with you, if you are reminded. Surely, you are but a wayward nation' (19) And there came running from the farthest part of the town, a man, saying: "O my people! Obey the Messengers; (20) Follow those who ask not of you any hire, and who are rightly guided. (21) "Why should I not worship God who has created me? To him you will all return. (22) Shall I take (other) gods in place of Him when, if the Beneficent should wish me any harm, their intercession will avail me naught, nor can they save? (23) In that case I would surely be in clear error. (24) Behold, I believe in your Lord; therefore hear me!' (25) It was said, "Enter Paradise." He said, "I wish my people could know (26) how my Lord has forgiven me and placed me among the honoured ones!" (27) ۞ And We sent not against his people after him a host from heaven, nor have We been sending down any such. (28) It was but one Saihah (shout, etc.) and lo! They (all) were silent (dead-destroyed). (29) How regretful for the servants. There did not come to them any messenger except that they used to ridicule him. (30) Have they not seen how many nations before them did We destroy? Thereafter they never came back to them. (31) They shall every one of them be arraigned before Us. (32)
