Hizb 45
Juz 23
And propound thou unto them the similitude of the inhabitants of a town, when there came thereto the sent ones. (13) When We sent to them two Messengers, they belied them both, so We reinforced them with a third, and they said: "Verily! We have been sent to you as Messengers." (14) They said, "You are not but human beings like us, and the Most Merciful has not revealed a thing. You are only telling lies." (15) They said, "Our Lord knows that we are messengers to you, (16) And nothing devolves on us but a clear deliverance (of the message). (17) They answered: 'We predict evil of you. If you do not desist, we will stone you and a painful punishment from us will befall you' (18) They said: your evil augury be with you. Call ye it an ill-luck because ye are admonished! Aye! ye are a people extravagant. (19) And from the remote part of the city there came a man running, he said: O my people! follow the apostles; (20) Follow those who do not ask you for any reward and who are rightly guided. (21) And why should I not worship He who created me and to whom you will be returned? (22) “What! Shall I appoint Gods other than Allah? So that if the Most Gracious should wish me any harm, their intercession would be of no use to me, nor would they be able to save me?” (23) Indeed, I would then be in manifest error. (24) Verily I believe now in your Lord; so hearken unto me. (25) It was said to him, “Enter Paradise”; he said, “If only my people knew!” (26) “The manner in which my Lord has pardoned me and made me of the honoured ones!” (27) ۞ And We sent not against his people after him a host from heaven, nor have We been sending down any such. (28) It was but one Shout, and lo! they were extinct. (29) Alas for mankind! There never came a Messenger to them but they used to mock at him. (30) Have they not seen how many generations We destroyed before them, which will not return to them? (31) They will all be brought into Our presence together. (32)
