(13) And We charged the human concerning his parents, for his mother bore him in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning was in two years. Be thankful to Me and to your parents, to Me is the arrival. (14) But if they strive with you to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them. (16) O My son! establish prayer and command that which is reputable and forbid iniquity, and bear patiently whatsoever may befall thee; verily that is of the firmness of affairs. (17) Do not scornfully turn your face away from people. Do not walk around puffed-up with pride; God does not love arrogant and boastful people. (18) Walk modestly, and lower your voice; the most hideous of voices is the braying of the donkey. (19)
