Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
34 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat) before Sheba (Saba)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Alif-Lam-Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language Allah, and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 These are the verses of the Book of wisdom, 2 A guidance and a mercy for the good, 3 Those who establish worship and pay the poor-due and have sure faith in the Hereafter. 4 these are rightly guided by their Lord: and these are the ones who will prosper. 5 There are some people who would purchase distracting talk, to lead astray from the Path of Allah without knowledge, and take it in mockery; for those is a humiliating punishment. 6 And when Our signs are recited to such a man he turns away, waxing proud, as though he heard them not, and in his ears were heaviness; so give him good tidings of a painful chastisement. 7 For those who believe and work righteous deeds, there will be Gardens of Bliss,- 8 Wherein they abide eternally; [it is] the promise of Allah [which is] truth. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise. 9 He created the heavens without pillars that you see and cast on the earth firm mountains lest it should shake with you. Upon it He dispersed all manner of crawling thing, and He sent down water from the sky with which He caused to grow in it every generous kind. 10 Such is Allah's creation. Show me, then, what any others, apart from Allah, have created. Nay, the fact is that the wrong-doers are in manifest error. 11
