Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
34 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat) before Sheba (Saba)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Alif Lam Mim. (1) These are verses of the wise Book, (2) A guidance and a mercy for the well-doers: (3) Those who keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate and they are certain of the hereafter. (4) They follow the guidance of their Lord and they will have everlasting happiness. (5) (In an attempt to show that God's revelations are only ancient legends) some people pay for meaningless tales to draw others attention away from the Quran without knowledge and treat as a matter of fun. They will suffer a humiliating torment. (6) And when Our signs are recited to such a man he turns away, waxing proud, as though he heard them not, and in his ears were heaviness; so give him good tidings of a painful chastisement. (7) Surely, those who believe and do good works shall enter gardens of bliss, (8) They will abide in them for ever. The promise of God is true; and He is all-mighty and all-wise. (9) He created the heavens without pillars you can see, and He cast on the earth firm mountains, lest it shake with you, and He scattered abroad in it all manner of crawling thing. And We sent down out of heaven water, and caused to grow in it of every generous kind. (10) Such is Allah's creation. Show me, then, what any others, apart from Allah, have created. Nay, the fact is that the wrong-doers are in manifest error. (11)
