Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
34 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat) before Sheba (Saba)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Alif-Lam-Mim. (1) These are the verses of the Wise Book, (2) providing guidance and grace unto the doers of good (3) who are constant in prayer and dispense charity: for it is they, they who in their innermost are certain of the life to come! (4) these are rightly guided by their Lord: and these are the ones who will prosper. (5) And of the people is he who buys the amusement of speech to mislead [others] from the way of Allah without knowledge and who takes it in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment. (6) When Our verses are recited before them they turn away haughtily as though they did not hear them, as if a deafness had come into their ears. So give them tidings of a shameful punishment. (7) [As against this,] verily, those who attain to faith and do righteous deeds shall have gardens of bliss, (8) Abiding in them; the promise of Allah; (a) true (promise), and He is the Mighty, the Wise. (9) He created the heavens without any pillars that ye can see; He set on the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with you; and He scattered through it beasts of all kinds. We send down rain from the sky, and produce on the earth every kind of noble creature, in pairs. (10) Such is God's creation. Show me now what those (they worship) beside Him have created. Surely the evil-doers are in clear error. (11)
