Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
34 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat) before Sheba (Saba)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Alif. Lam. Mim. (1) These are the verses of the sagacious Book, (2) And a guidance and grace for those who do good, (3) Those who keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate and they are certain of the hereafter. (4) Those are on [right] guidance from their Lord, and it is those who are the successful. (5) There are some people who would purchase distracting talk, to lead astray from the Path of Allah without knowledge, and take it in mockery; for those is a humiliating punishment. (6) And when Our revelations are recited unto him he turneth away in pride as if he heard them not, as if there were a deafness in his ears. So give him tidings of a painful doom. (7) Surely for those who believe and do the right are pleasure gardens. (8) In which they will abide; it is a true promise of Allah; and only He is the Almighty, the Wise. (9) He created the heavens without any supports visible to you, and cast mountains as anchors into the earth so that it may not shake with you, and spread all kinds of beasts in it; and We sent down water from the sky so thereby grew all kinds of refined pairs in it. (10) This is the creation of Allah. So show Me that which those (whom you worship), besides Him have created. Nay, the Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers and those who do not believe in the Oneness of Allah) are in plain error. (11)
