Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
34 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat) before Sheba (Saba)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Alif. Lam. Mim. (1) THESE ARE MESSAGES of the divine writ, full of wisdom, (2) a guide and a mercy for those who do good, (3) Those who establish worship and pay the poor-due and have sure faith in the Hereafter. (4) It is they who follow the guidance [that comes to them] from their Sustainer; and it is they, they who shall attain to a happy state! (5) But among men are also those who spread frivolous stories to mislead (others) from the way of God, without any knowledge, and take it lightly. For such as these the nemesis will be shameful. (6) And when Our signs are recited to such a man he turns away, waxing proud, as though he heard them not, and in his ears were heaviness; so give him good tidings of a painful chastisement. (7) But for those who believe and do good works are Gardens of Bliss, (8) where they shall live for ever. The promise of Allah is the truth; He is the Almighty, the Wise. (9) He created the heavens without pillars as you see them, and put mountains upon the earth lest it might convulse with you, and He spread in it animals of every kind; and We sent down water from the cloud, then caused to grow therein (vegetation) of every noble kind. (10) This is the creation of Allah. So show Me that which those (whom you worship), besides Him have created. Nay, the Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers and those who do not believe in the Oneness of Allah) are in plain error. (11)
