Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
34 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat) before Sheba (Saba)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Alif-Lam-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] (1) These are the verses of the sagacious Book, (2) A Guide and a Mercy to the Doers of Good,- (3) who perform the prayer, and pay the alms, and have sure faith in the Hereafter. (4) These are on a guidance from their Lord, and these are they who are successful: (5) Some men there are who buy diverting talk to lead astray from the way of God without knowledge, and to take it in mockery; those -- there awaits them a humbling chastisement. (6) When Our Signs are rehearsed to such a one, he turns away in arrogance, as if he heard them not, as if there were deafness in both his ears: announce to him a grievous Penalty. (7) Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them are the Gardens of Pleasure. (8) to abide therein in accordance with God's true promise: for He alone is almighty, truly wise. (9) He created the skies without a support, as you can see, and placed stabilisers in the earth that you may dwell at ease as it revolves; and dispersed on it all varieties of creatures, and He sent down water from the skies and grew all kinds of splendid things upon it. (10) This is the creation of Allah. So show Me what those other than Him have created. Rather, the wrongdoers are in clear error. (11)
