Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
34 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat) before Sheba (Saba)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Alif Lam Mim. (1) These are the verses of the Book of wisdom, (2) And a guidance and grace for those who do good, (3) who establish the prayer, pay the obligatory charity, and firmly believe in the Everlasting Life. (4) Those are on [right] guidance from their Lord, and it is those who are the successful. (5) And of men is he who takes instead frivolous discourse to lead astray from Allah's path without knowledge, and to take it for a mockery; these shall have an abasing chastisement. (6) When Our verses are recited to him, he turns his back in pride, as though he never heard them, and in his ears was heaviness. Give glad tidings to him of a painful punishment! (7) The righteously striving believers will enter Paradise (8) wherein they will abide forever. That is God's true promise; He is the Mighty, the Wise One. (9) He [it is who] has created the skies without any supports that you could see, and has placed firm mountains upon the earth, lest it sway with you, and has caused all manner of living creatures to multiply thereon. And We send down water from the skies, and thus We cause every noble kind [of life] to grow on earth. (10) Such is God's creation. Show me now what those (they worship) beside Him have created. Surely the evil-doers are in clear error. (11)
