Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
34 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat) before Sheba (Saba)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Alif. Lam. Mim. (1) Those are the verses of the Wise Book, (2) Guidance and mercy for the righteous. (3) Those who establish regular Prayer, and give regular Charity, and have (in their hearts) the assurance of the Hereafter. (4) It is they who follow the guidance [that comes to them] from their Sustainer; and it is they, they who shall attain to a happy state! (5) (In an attempt to show that God's revelations are only ancient legends) some people pay for meaningless tales to draw others attention away from the Quran without knowledge and treat as a matter of fun. They will suffer a humiliating torment. (6) For, whenever Our messages are conveyed to such a one, he turns away in his arrogance as though he had not heard them - as though there were deafness in his ears. Give him, then, the tiding of grievous suffering [in the life to come]. (7) Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them are the Gardens of Pleasure. (8) They will abide in them for ever. The promise of God is true; and He is all-mighty and all-wise. (9) He created the skies without a support, as you can see, and placed stabilisers in the earth that you may dwell at ease as it revolves; and dispersed on it all varieties of creatures, and He sent down water from the skies and grew all kinds of splendid things upon it. (10) this is God's creation. Show me then what those besides Him have created! The wrongdoers are in manifest error. (11)
