Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
34 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat) before Sheba (Saba)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
ALIF LAM MIM. (1) These are revelations of the wise Scripture, (2) A guidance and mercy for the righteous (3) who establish the prayer, pay the obligatory charity, and firmly believe in the Everlasting Life. (4) Those are on [right] guidance from their Lord, and it is those who are the successful. (5) But there are, among men, those who purchase idle tales, without knowledge (or meaning), to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah and throw ridicule (on the Path): for such there will be a Humiliating Penalty. (6) Whenever Our messages are conveyed to such a person, he turns away in his arrogance, as though he had not heard them -- as though his ears were sealed: give him, then, the tidings of grievous suffering [in the life to come]. (7) Surely, those who believe and do good works shall enter gardens of bliss, (8) They shall abide in them forever. This is Allah's promise that shall come true. He is the Most Powerful, the Most Wise. (9) He hath created the heavens without supports that ye can see, and hath cast into the earth firm hills, so that it quake not with you; and He hath dispersed therein all kinds of beasts. And We send down water from the sky and We cause (plants) of every goodly kind to grow therein. (10) This is God's creation; now show me what those have created that are apart from Him! Nay, but the evildoers are in manifest error. (11)
