Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
34 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat) before Sheba (Saba)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Alif. Lam. Mim. (1) Those are the verses of the Wise Book, (2) Guidance and mercy for the righteous. (3) Who are constant in devotion, pay the zakat, and are certain of the Hereafter. (4) It is they who are on guidance from their Lord, and only they are the successful. (5) There are some people who would purchase distracting talk, to lead astray from the Path of Allah without knowledge, and take it in mockery; for those is a humiliating punishment. (6) And when Our revelations are recited unto him he turneth away in pride as if he heard them not, as if there were a deafness in his ears. So give him tidings of a painful doom. (7) [As against this,] verily, those who attain to faith and do righteous deeds shall have gardens of bliss, (8) Wherein they will abide. It is a promise of Allah in truth. He is the Mighty, the Wise. (9) He created the heavens without any supports visible to you, and cast mountains as anchors into the earth so that it may not shake with you, and spread all kinds of beasts in it; and We sent down water from the sky so thereby grew all kinds of refined pairs in it. (10) This is the creation of God. Show me what those whom you consider equal to God have created. In fact, the unjust ones are in plain error. (11)
