Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
34 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat) before Sheba (Saba)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Alif Lam Mim (1) These are verses of the wise Book. (2) a guide and a mercy for those who do good, (3) Those who establish the prayer and give the poor-rate and of the Hereafter are convinced. (4) It is they who follow the guidance [that comes to them] from their Sustainer; and it is they, they who shall attain to a happy state! (5) And of mankind is one who purchaseth an idle discourse, that he may mislead from Allah's way without knowledge, and taketh it by way of mockery. These! for them shall be a torment ignominious. (6) And when Our signs are recited to such a man he turns away, waxing proud, as though he heard them not, and in his ears were heaviness; so give him good tidings of a painful chastisement. (7) Surely those who believe and do good deeds shall have Gardens of Bliss. (8) They will abide in them for ever. The promise of God is true; and He is all-mighty and all-wise. (9) He created the heavens without any pillars that ye can see; He set on the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with you; and He scattered through it beasts of all kinds. We send down rain from the sky, and produce on the earth every kind of noble creature, in pairs. (10) This is the creation of God. Show me what those whom you consider equal to God have created. In fact, the unjust ones are in plain error. (11)
