Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
AlifLaamMeem. 1 These are revelations of the wise Scripture, 2 And a guidance and grace for those who do good, 3 Those who keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate and they are certain of the hereafter. 4 These are on guidance from their Lord, and these! they are the blissful ones. 5 But among men there are some who spend their time in idle diversions only to lead people astray from the path of God, and without knowledge, hold it up to ridicule: for such there is a humiliating punishment in store. 6 And when Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to such a one, he turns away in pride, as if he heard them not, as if there were deafness in his ear. So announce to him a painful torment. 7 Verily those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be Gardens of Delight. 8 Abiding in them; the promise of Allah; (a) true (promise), and He is the Mighty, the Wise. 9 He created the heavens without any pillars visible to you and He placed mountains in the earth as pegs lest it should turn topsy turvy with you, and He dispersed all kinds of animals over the earth, and sent down water from the sky causing all kinds of excellent plants to grow on it. 10 Allah has created this therefore show me what has been created by those other than Him; in fact the unjust are in open error. 11
