Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
34 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat) before Sheba (Saba)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Alif-Lam-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] (1) These are the verses of the Book of wisdom. (2) A guide and a mercy for the Muhsinun (good-doers) (3) people who are steadfast in prayer, pay the religious tax, and have firm belief in the life to come. (4) Those are guided by their Lord and will surely prosper. (5) But among men are also those who spread frivolous stories to mislead (others) from the way of God, without any knowledge, and take it lightly. For such as these the nemesis will be shameful. (6) And when Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to such a one, he turns away in pride, as if he heard them not, as if there were deafness in his ear. So announce to him a painful torment. (7) The righteously striving believers will enter Paradise (8) They will abide in them for ever. The promise of God is true; and He is all-mighty and all-wise. (9) He created the heavens without pillars that you see and cast on the earth firm mountains lest it should shake with you. Upon it He dispersed all manner of crawling thing, and He sent down water from the sky with which He caused to grow in it every generous kind. (10) Allah has created this therefore show me what has been created by those other than Him; in fact the unjust are in open error. (11)
