Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
34 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat) before Sheba (Saba)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Alif-Lam-Mim. (1) These are the verses of the Book of wisdom. (2) A guidance and mercy for the righteous (3) Those who establish worship and pay the poor-due and have sure faith in the Hereafter. (4) It is they who follow the guidance [that comes to them] from their Sustainer; and it is they, they who shall attain to a happy state! (5) But among men there is many a one that prefers a mere play with words [to divine guidance,] so as to lead [those] without knowledge astray from the path of God, and to turn it to ridicule: for such there is shameful suffering in store. (6) And when Our communications are recited to him, he turns back proudly, as if he had not heard them, as though in his ears were a heaviness, therefore announce to him a painful chastisement. (7) Surely for those who believe and do the right are pleasure gardens. (8) To dwell therein. The promise of Allah is true: and He is Exalted in Power, Wise. (9) He created the heavens without pillars that you see and has cast into the earth firmly set mountains, lest it should shift with you, and dispersed therein from every creature. And We sent down rain from the sky and made grow therein [plants] of every noble kind. (10) Such is the Creation of Allah: now show Me what is there that others besides Him have created: nay, but the Transgressors are in manifest error. (11)
