Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
34 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat) before Sheba (Saba)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Alif-Lam-Mim. (1) These are the verses of the Wise Book, (2) Guidance and mercy for the righteous. (3) Those who keep the prayer established and pay the charity and accept faith in the Hereafter. (4) It is they who are on true guidance from their Lord, and it is they who shall prosper. (5) And some people buy words of play, in order to mislead from Allah’s path, without knowledge; and to make it an article of mockery; for them is a disgraceful punishment. (6) When Our verses are recited before them they turn away haughtily as though they did not hear them, as if a deafness had come into their ears. So give them tidings of a shameful punishment. (7) Verily, those who believe (in Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, for them are Gardens of delight (Paradise). (8) where they shall live for ever. The promise of Allah is the truth; He is the Almighty, the Wise. (9) He hath created the heavens that ye behold without pillars, and hath cast into the earth firm mountains lest it move away with you; and He hath scattered thereon every kind of animal. And We send down water from the heaven and We make grow every kind of goodly growth therein. (10) This is the creation of Allah. So show Me that which those (whom you worship), besides Him have created. Nay, the Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers and those who do not believe in the Oneness of Allah) are in plain error. (11)
