Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
34 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat) before Sheba (Saba)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Alif-Lam-Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language Allah, and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) (1) These are the verses of the Wise Book, (2) for a guidance and a mercy to the good-doers (3) Who establish prayer and give zakah, and they, of the Hereafter, are certain [in faith]. (4) Those are guided by their Lord and will surely prosper. (5) But there are, among men, those who purchase idle tales, without knowledge (or meaning), to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah and throw ridicule (on the Path): for such there will be a Humiliating Penalty. (6) And when Our verses are recited to him he haughtily turns away as if he did not hear them as if there is deafness in his ears; so give him the glad tidings of a painful punishment. (7) The righteously striving believers will enter Paradise (8) to abide therein in accordance with God's true promise: for He alone is almighty, truly wise. (9) He created the heavens without any pillars that ye can see; He set on the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with you; and He scattered through it beasts of all kinds. We send down rain from the sky, and produce on the earth every kind of noble creature, in pairs. (10) Allah has created this therefore show me what has been created by those other than Him; in fact the unjust are in open error. (11)
