Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
34 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat) before Sheba (Saba)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Alif-Lam-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] (1) These are Verses of the Wise Book,- (2) A guide and a mercy for the Muhsinun (good-doers) (3) Those who establish regular Prayer, and give regular Charity, and have (in their hearts) the assurance of the Hereafter. (4) Such have guidance from their Lord. Such are the successful. (5) But among men there is many a one that prefers a mere play with words [to divine guidance,] so as to lead [those] without knowledge astray from the path of God, and to turn it to ridicule: for such there is shameful suffering in store. (6) And when Our revelations are recited unto him he turneth away in his stiff-neckedness as though he heard them not: as though there was a deafness in his ears. So announce thou unto him a torment afflictive. (7) Surely those who believe, and do deeds of righteousness, there awaits them Gardens of Bliss (8) therein to dwell forever -- God's promise in truth; and He is the All-mighty, the All-wise. (9) He created the heavens without any pillars visible to you and He placed mountains in the earth as pegs lest it should turn topsy turvy with you, and He dispersed all kinds of animals over the earth, and sent down water from the sky causing all kinds of excellent plants to grow on it. (10) This is Allah's creation, but show Me what those besides Him have created. Nay, the unjust are in manifest error (11)
