Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
34 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat) before Sheba (Saba)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Alif Lam Mim. (1) These are the verses of the Wise Book, (2) A Guide and a Mercy to the Doers of Good,- (3) Who are constant in devotion, pay the zakat, and are certain of the Hereafter. (4) Such have guidance from their Lord. Such are the successful. (5) And of the people is he who buys the amusement of speech to mislead [others] from the way of Allah without knowledge and who takes it in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment. (6) When Our verses are recited before them they turn away haughtily as though they did not hear them, as if a deafness had come into their ears. So give them tidings of a shameful punishment. (7) Surely those who believe and do good deeds shall have Gardens of Bliss. (8) They shall abide in them forever. This is Allah's promise that shall come true. He is the Most Powerful, the Most Wise. (9) He created the heavens without any pillars visible to you and He placed mountains in the earth as pegs lest it should turn topsy turvy with you, and He dispersed all kinds of animals over the earth, and sent down water from the sky causing all kinds of excellent plants to grow on it. (10) This is the Creation of Allah. Now show me that which those (ye worship) beside Him have created. Nay, but the wrong-doers are in error manifest! (11)
