Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
34 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat) before Sheba (Saba)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Alif. Lam. Mim. (1) These are revelations of the wise Scripture, (2) providing guidance and grace unto the doers of good (3) who are constant in prayer and dispense charity: for it is they, they who in their innermost are certain of the life to come! (4) It is they who are on guidance from their Lord, and only they are the successful. (5) And of mankind is one who purchaseth an idle discourse, that he may mislead from Allah's way without knowledge, and taketh it by way of mockery. These! for them shall be a torment ignominious. (6) For, whenever Our messages are conveyed to such a one, he turns away in his arrogance as though he had not heard them - as though there were deafness in his ears. Give him, then, the tiding of grievous suffering [in the life to come]. (7) Indeed those who believed and did good deeds for them are Gardens of serenity. (8) therein to dwell forever -- God's promise in truth; and He is the All-mighty, the All-wise. (9) He has created the heavens without pillar as you can see, fixed the mountains on earth so that it may not shake you away, and settled therein all types of living creatures. We have sent down water from the sky and made all kinds of plants grow in gracious pairs. (10) this is God's creation. Show me then what those besides Him have created! The wrongdoers are in manifest error. (11)
